New Year, New Car

2019 looks set to be an exciting year in the automotive industry and especially for Tates. With several brand new models arriving on the scene, we thought we’d talk you through some of the hottest ones that will be appearing in our showrooms early 2019.

There are lots of reasons why we can’t wait for them to arrive, so we thought it’s only right to share a few with you!

All New C5 Aircross

Citroen C5 Aircross

Think C3 Aircross but bigger - this SUV from Citroën features unique, quirky styling that you’ve come to expect from a Citroën. However, it’s now really beginning to stand out from the crowd as the most comfortable SUV; due to the Citroën Advanced Comfort® programme. It also includes 20 driver technologies and 6 connectivity technologies, which makes this a truly next-generation SUV.

We believe it will be perfect for long road trips, especially with the family; with its spacious cabin and three individual, sliding, incline-adjustable and folding rear seats.

The 8-inch touchscreen allows users to access the navigation system, air conditioning, multimedia system and more. If you’re looking for an extremely comfortable SUV, then look no further than the C5 Aircross.

Kia ProCeed

Take the daring and sporty design of a coupe and merge it with a tourer. Then, add in dynamic handling and a host of smart technologies and the result? The Proceed.

The ProCeed is the newest arrival from Kia and is only available in Kia’s sportiest models; GT Line and GT. All trims come with at least 17-inch Alloy Wheels and dual exhaust tips and not forgetting the all important 7-year warranty Kia offer.

Open the doors, and you’ll also notice various stylish details including faux suede leather seats and a JBL Premium Sound System.

Top spec models come equipped with 8” touchscreen, heated windscreen, heated seats, wireless smartphone charging, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring, perfect for drivers that want top-of-the-range technology.

The high-performance 1.6-litre T-GDi engine for GT models ensures a smooth drive and is available as both petrol or diesel.

This is indeed a car worth considering if you’re looking for a sleek shooting break body shape that's fun to drive combined with sporty elements both inside & out, but with a smaller price tag than its competitors.

ds3 crossback

Meet the DS 3 CROSSBACK; the new luxury compact SUV from DS Automobiles which will be replacing the well-loved DS3.

The DS 3 CROSSBACK will be available as a pure electric car, petrol or diesel. You can expect to find a real striking exterior which is modern, sophisticated and elegant similar to the highly stylish DS 7 CROSSBACK which was launched back in 2017.

One of our favourite features on the exterior is the flush fitting for hands - handles that only appear when you need them; additionally, the car will remotely unlock without the need to press a button on the key - so you can keep them in your pocket or bag. But, step inside the cabin, and you’ll see just how DS have paid close attention to the quality of every single detail with technology to match, just take a look at the impressive 10.3” information screen!

Find long journeys stressful? Then take away that stress with DS DRIVE ASSIST. This combines several different driving aids such as Active Cruise Control that maintains your speed, as well as a safe distance from the car in front, whilst also positioning the vehicle in the centre of its lane. When the traffic slows, this technology can even bring the vehicle to a complete stop and set off again as the traffic moves!

And finally, if you’re not a fan of parking then the DS 3 CROSSBACK is the car for you thanks to DS PARK PILOT, your car will park itself without any input from you on the steering wheel or pedals. This is one car you will definitely want to consider!

All-electric Kona

Electric cars are a hot topic for 2019, and at Tates; we recognise how important it is to be ‘green’ therefore, for that reason, we had to include the award-winning all-electric Kona.

The Hyundai Kona has been around for a year now, so you’ll probably be familiar with the on-trend crossover body shape that will set you apart from the crowd.

There are numerous ways you can charge the battery including a home charging station or domestic charging cable. On the fastest charge, the battery can go from 0%-80% charge in 54 minutes.

Hyundai has won Manufacturer of the Year and Car of the Year at Next Green Car Awards, and this is down to the pioneering work that Hyundai has conducted in electrified powertrains, but it was the Kona that was singled out for special praise. This is due to its extraordinary value for money and family-friendly practicality.

The KONA Electric has a range of new features that can help make your drive a dream. The head-up display makes it easy for you to stay safe by projecting important information like speed, navigation commands, and warnings, right into your line of sight. The autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot detection and rear-cross traffic alert all help you stay safe on the roads and help prevent crashes and accidents.

If you’re looking for an electric car for 2019, we believe the Kona is undoubtedly the one to consider.
