This year we saw Citroen have some fantastic achievements as it has been a busy 

Here we look back at some of their highlights for 2018.


January Highlights​

The new Citroën C3 Aircross Compact SUV was crowned the winner in the ‘Best Small Crossover’ category of the UK Car of the Year Awards 2018.

Citroën’s New C3 Aircross Compact SUV has been recognised once again – winning the ‘Best Small Crossover’ category in the UK Car of the Year Awards 2018.

This title adds another impressive UK accolade to New C3 Aircross’ growing collection of international honours.



February Highlights​

Citroen revealed their new revamped Berlingo.

The new Citroën Berlingo has been updated in terms of design and comfort, reinforcing the fresh spirit and practicality behind the success of the iconic model, which has sold over 1.7 million units. 

The new Berlingo features all the brand markers of Citroën design with a new body that gives it a robust and cheerful appearance. 

It also sees the introduction of the smooth and efficient EAT8 (8-speed) automatic gearbox. This latest Citroën model made its world premiere at the Geneva Motor and went ‘on sale’ the second half of 2018.


March Highlights

Citroen's global CEO Linda Jackson receives prestigious Sue Brownson Award in recognition of outstanding leadership in the automotive sector.

Under her leadership, Citroën has reinvented itself, bringing a breath of fresh air to the automotive landscape with products that are focused on design and well-being. Linda has also renewed the brand’s positioning, expressed through the new ‘Inspired By You’ signature, and continues to redefine the way people travel today through the Citroën Advanced Comfort® programme.

Linda Jackson commented: “I am honoured to have been presented with the Sue Brownson Award and would like to thank the IMI for this prestigious accolade. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the IMI on the work it does to develop professional standards across the automotive sector in the UK. From the support of apprenticeship programmes to its leadership of the industry during times of change, the IMI’s contribution is fundamental for the future success of the sector in Britain.”


​April Highlights

Citroen launches two special editions: Elle and Urban Ride to their enhanced C1 range.

The upbeat, easy-to-drive city car, Citroën C1 is now boosting its appeal, with updated features such as new Citroën chevrons, new technological equipment, improved overall comfort and new Euro 6.d-TEMP engines. 

To strengthen the Citroën C1 range even further, two new special editions are being introduced. 

Citroën’s partnership with the brand ELLE sees the addition of the elegant, trendy and connected C1 ELLE. 

The more adventurous and laid-back, C1 Urban Ride evokes a sense of escape via dynamic lines reinforced with wing protectors. 

These two special editions were made available to order in the UK from May 2018.


​July Highlights

Citroën revealed a new product, SEETROËN, the first glasses to help aid with motion sickness.

Citroën are providing a solution for the widespread complaint (also known as kinetosis) that affects over 30 million Europeans in a chronic manner. One in three people experience motion sickness symptoms at least once in their life.

SEETROËN glasses use Boarding RingTM technology developed by the start-up of the same name based in Var in the south of France. The patented and tested paramedical solution has an efficacy rating of 95%. Equipped with moving liquid in the rings around the eyes, both along the frontal axis (right/left) and sagittal axis (front/back), the glasses recreate the horizon line to resolve the conflict between the senses that causes the affliction.



Citroen and Total celebrated a 50 year partnership!

Since the partnership began in 1968, Total has helped drive Citroën’s industrial growth worldwide by supplying a wide range of automobile lubricants. Over the decades, the two companies have jointly developed lubricants specifically for Citroën engines, to make them ever more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.

The environment is a core concern for Citroën and Total. The pair has pledged to drastically curtail their environmental impact, notably by reducing carbon emissions. Their R&D teams co-develop specific solutions that fit the bill. Today their efforts have culminated in the new TOTAL QUARTZ INEO FIRST 0W-20, a synthetic oil for pollution control systems that improves fuel economy by as much as 4%.


August Highlights​

Citroën UK partnered up with hit TV show 'First Dates' to treat three blind date couples to the ultimate version of ‘speed dating’, by hosting their first dates while being driven at speed around a rally stage.

The special ‘speed dating’ session involved the couples getting to know each other whilst being driven around the Brands Hatch rally stage in a Citroen C3 by World Rally Championship driver, Craig Breen.

The activity took place to celebrate the return of Channel 4’s First Dates Hotel on 28 August 2018 and Citroën’s broadcast sponsorship of the series.

The hit TV show’s star waitress, CiCi Coleman, was on hand throughout the day to host each of the three couples and serve crêpes from a classic Citroën H Van – after they had been taken around the gravel rally stage.



September Highlights​

Citroen announced that in less than two years since the C3 was first unveiled, it has reached an impressive 400,000 sales.

Citroën UK celebrated a significant milestone for C3, having achieved more than 32,000 sales in the UK alone. 

The model has also received a multitude of awards in the UK, including ‘Best Urbanite’ in BBC TopGear magazine’s ‘Best Cars in the World’, ‘Best Small Car’ in the Fleet News Awards and even ‘Driving Instructor Car of the Year’ at the inaugural FirstCar Awards 2018.




The new Citroën Berlingo van was awarded the coveted title of “International Van of the Year 2019”. 

The presentation took place at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Show in Hannover. The third generation Berlingo Van was recognised for its remarkable developments in terms of comfort and technology, with no compromise on functionality. 

True to the brand’s signature, “Inspired By Pro”, New Citroën Berlingo Van adapts to the needs of all professions and trades. The judging panel praised New Berlingo Van for its two sizes (M and XL), as well as its comfort and safety features – with no less than twenty driving aids and four connectivity technologies. 

UK deliveries of New Berlingo Van are scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2018.



The new Citroen C5 Aircross SUV has been shortlisted for 2019 Car of the Year.

The new Citroen C5 Aircross SUV is among the seven finalists competing for the 2019 Car of the Year title. 

Boasting a strong personality, New C5 Aircross SUV stands apart through its unique, energetic and self-assured attitude. Making its public debut at the Paris Motor Show, Citroën’s new flagship has already been ordered in over 1,500 units in Europe and will be launched in December. 

New C5 Aircross SUV appeals to customers with its robust and muscular design, full of power and free of arrogance. It stands out in the SUV segment through its fluid body styling punctuated with strong graphic features including the Airbumps. 


An ambassador of the Citroën Advanced Comfort® programme, New C5 Aircross SUV innovates with its overall comfort. The new model is notably fitted with the Progressive Hydraulic Cushions® suspension system and Advanced Comfort seats, and also boasts benchmark versatility and spaciousness, drawing on all of Citroën’s know-how in MPVs. Fully in tune with its times, New C5 Aircross SUV is equipped with 20 modern driver assistance systems and 6 advanced connectivity technologies.



October Highlights

For the second consecutive year, Citroën Grand C4 Picasso has been named ‘Best Used MPV’ in the Auto Express Used Car Awards.

The highly-acclaimed, spacious and stylish MPV continues to deliver on its status as a class-leading family car.

Citroën’s Grand C4 Picasso (now known as Grand C4 SpaceTourer) has been awarded ‘Best Used MPV’ in this year’s Auto Express Used Car Awards.

The stylish MPV was applauded for its reliability, family-friendly practicality and outstanding comfort.

The panel of judges were also impressed by the Grand C4 Picasso’s efficient engines, which deliver the performance needed for a car in its category. With best-in-class space, the multi-award winning MPV continues to be both an industry and a family favourite.
