Best New Automobile Technology

As technology has improved greatly over the last couple of years, we see the improvement in our cars too! There is now a lot more automotive technology available that can improve your driving experience, so we take a look at the best technology available and what cars feature it.

Adaptive Cruise Control.

Driver assist systems such as cruise control can take a lot of the stress out of driving. By using an array of sensors, adaptive cruise control can match the speed of the car in front of you, so you don’t need to constantly be accelerating and breaking. Some vehicles allow the car to be brought to a complete stop and then move off automatically, so you no longer have to worry about stop and go traffic anymore. Although it may be scary for some people to put their trust in their car, it is great for situations where you may not be paying attention or are distracted, keeping you, your passengers and the drivers and pedestrians around you safer.

LED Headlights.

Headlights are very important to help you be able to see the road in front of you when it is dark. Some luxury cars have swivelling LED bulbs that turn with the road to help you see around corners and maximise the view of your surroundings.

Lane Departure Warning.

Driving on Motorways and Dual Carriageways can often be boring, and you can easily get distracted. Some cars now have lane departure warning systems which use cameras to determine if your car has drifted across a marked lane line, giving a visual or audible notification to tell you. More advanced tech is often called Lane Keeping assist, which allows for the car to help you get back into the proper lane automatically and can save you from accidents.

Cars with this feature:

Automatic Emergency Braking.

Automatic Emergency Braking or AEB uses a variety of sensors to determine if a collision is about to take place and automatically applies the brakes to prevent this. Many cars employ AEB with great success, and it works very well, however, it isn’t something to completely rely on. Although, it is great for when the driver is distracted and not paying attention, potentially saving lives.

Cars with this feature:

Bluetooth connectivity.

Bluetooth connectivity is becoming more and more popular in newer vehicles and for a good reason. You can connect your smartphone to your car allowing you to stay connected while your drive. You can easily play your music and take calls handsfree all from the screen in front of you, making it a lot safer than fiddling around with different devices.
