Review of DS 7 Crossback

by Hannah Bamford - general manager - Redroaster Pike & Pine

I was recently invited by the marketing manager of Tates DS Store in Brighton and Crawley to drive the all-new and very prestigious DS 7 Crossback to give a females view of the new luxury SUV. I jumped at the chance, who wouldn’t?

Driving the DS 7 Crossback was a real treat. The car is incredibly advanced and intuitive which made my time driving a pleasure. I was lucky enough to be driving the top-of-the-range, Ultra Prestige version finished in Byzantin Gold.

First impressions when I turned up at the dealership to collect the SUV was ‘wow’, the sleek and graceful features really make it stand out.  From the front, the DS 7 Crossback’s most striking feature is its deep grille, adorned with DS WINGS and flanked by slim, LED headlamps. The overall impression is one of power and sophistication; this is a car that’s certain to turn heads whether on or off-road.

Long car journeys have always been a struggle for me, but the DS 7 Crossbacks carefully crafted interior is replete with soft-touch materials and gorgeous detailing, creating a contemporary and elegant feel, making my time driving a pleasure instead of the usual chore.

I loved how I could tailor pretty much everything inside the vehicle to my exact requirements at the touch of a button. The digital instrument cluster-enabled me to customise the display according to which information was most important to me and the second 12-inch screen offered access to functions such as navigation, music, phone and even a back massage.

It’s also very advanced in what it can do – I felt as if the vehicle was indeed looking out for me. Beyond all the different drive settings, I liked the signal it gives when pedestrians or animals are crossing close to you, and how it adjusts speeds automatically, improving the comfort and offering a unique driving experience, which when driving around a busy city like Brighton, is very beneficial.

The parking sensors were great too, my biggest worry in driving a car more significant than I’m used to, was if I ever was going be able to park!  The HD screen is so clear, and the sensors are so precise, making parking a breeze.

Over the week, which currently is the hottest in the South for many years, I was most grateful for the Automatic air conditioning and the air-conditioned seats! A much nicer way to keep cool than having cold air blown at your face the whole time you’re driving.

All in all, it was a real pleasure to drive the DS 7 Crossback and was extremely hard to hand it back to the guys at Tates DS.
