Motability scheme - Eligibility

Thousands of motorists each year enjoy the benefits of the Motability scheme. A brand-new car and all related support services are funded through a simple and understandable leasing plan, making it the easy way to stay mobile.

If you're interested in the scheme you can find out more with Tates Motor Group, but it's important to find out whether or not you're eligible first. Those who are use their government-funded mobility allowance to pay for a lease, and eligibility generally means receiving one of the following:

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
  • Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of the Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
  • War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

You must also have at least 12 months of awards remaining, and pleasingly there's no upper age limit. What's more, parents and guardians of children aged three years and older who are receiving HRMC DLA can order a car on their behalf, and up to three named drivers can be included as part of your lease.
