The car’s five-seater cabin provides the driver with a height-adjustable position – and a two-way-adjustable steering wheel which also features infotainment controls. The Rio is one of the most spacious superminis on the market, with ample head and legroom in both compartments. A range of standard features includes electric front windows (with auto-up/down facility), air conditioning and plenty of stowage provision. The 288-litre boot space can quickly be expanded to 923 litres when split-folding rear seats are folded.

A four-speaker sound system includes DAB radio and an MP3-compatible CD player. Bluetooth connectivity and USB and AUX inputs feature as standard too.

Euro NCAP has awarded the Rio with a five-star crash-test rating. Safety features include Electronic Stability Control, Emergency Brake Assist (complete with a flashing high-mounted brake light), three-point seatbelts, front seatbelt pre-tensioners and load-limiters and ISOFIX attachments.
