Introducing the all-new KIA Picanto
April 2017 saw the release of the all-new Picanto, which comes with a striking new look, a brand new engine, two additional trim levels and plenty of extra features.
Making its debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in March, the third-generation Picanto was unveiled with a sportier look. It now features a ‘tiger nose’ grille which, in conjunction with sleek, angled headlights and an expansive bumper design, provides a striking front fascia design.
The All-New Picanto is available in a five-door body style only, since this has proven to be the most popular choice. All trim levels will now feature a range of LED's – including daytime running lights and brake lights – as well as fog lamps.

In addition to ‘1’, ‘2’ and ‘3’ trims, new top-tier GT-Line and GT-Line S grades have been introduced, pushing the car’s sporty look even further. This is most noticeable in regard to the vehicle’s lower front bumper, red-trimmed air-intake inserts and an eye-catching red trim that runs along the lower portion of its flanks.
The Picanto benefits from a longer than ever wheelbase, which delivers more legroom. Boot space has also been increased, to a minimum of 255 litres, while a maximum capacity of 1,010 litres is available with rear seats folded. The cabin benefits from a more upmarket look and feel, while new technology includes a seven-inch infotainment screen.
This display is easy to read and operate while travelling, because it’s conveniently positioned adjacent to the upper half of the car’s steering wheel. The latter is fitted with infotainment controls, enabling easy and safe operation when driving. Smartphone control is now possible, thanks to the inclusion of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay services.
Safety features include a six-airbag system and the option to select Autonomous Emergency Braking. Other new options include a wireless phone charger and reversing camera. Five colour packs have also been introduced, enabling the driver to select his or her ideal seat, door panel and stitching colours
In addition to existing 1.0-litre and 1.25-litre petrol engines is a new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit. This produces 99bhp, enabling a perky 0-60mph in approximately 10.3 seconds, with only a marginal reduction in fuel efficiency.
