Gone are the days when driving an MPV meant driving a nondescript box, thanks to the Grand C4 Picasso’s flowing lines and inventive use of lighting. Bright LED daytime running lights sit astride the grille, with the headlights sitting below.
C-shaped rear lights ensure the unmistakeably stylish French design runs all the way from nose to tail.
Open the door and you’ll find a cabin that’s anything but dull, offering ‘loft space’-style living. It’s crisp, stylish and supremely comfortable, thanks to soft yet supportive seats and cosseting suspension that soaks up the bumps.
The ingenious seven-seat system is designed to make life as easy as possible, giving you the flexibility you need to balance passenger space with carrying capacity.
Every version is generously equipped and top-of-the-range models include lots of creature comforts, including heated, electrically-operated front massage seats and climate control.
Performance and Economy
There are plenty of engine options, so you can find the one that best blends power and acceleration with frugality and fuel efficiency to suit your driving style. Those who prefer petrol power can choose from the manual 129bhp PureTech 1.2-litre model, or a 1.6-litre turbo with 161bhp and an automatic gearbox.
Diesel drivers have even more choice, with two 1.6-litre options (offering 99bhp or 119bhp) and a 2.0-litre providing 148bhp. Every diesel version achieves at least 64mpg, and the 99bhp option is the first seven-seat MPV to offer CO2 emissions of less than 100g/km. That’s great news because it means reduced road tax bills and cheaper Benefit-in-Kind deductions if you’re in the market for a company car.
Safety and Technology
The Grand C4 Picasso is offered with lots of the latest technologies, including satellite navigation, Bluetooth technology so you can take hands-free calls safely at the wheel, a digital DAB radio, all-round parking sensors with park assist, a reversing camera, and cruise control to take the stress out of long-distance journeys.
Safety is a top priority as well, of course, so all models feature emergency braking assist, Electronic Stability Programme, hill-start assist, plus curtain side airbags for both the front and middle rows of passengers. These all combine to help the car achieve a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
